I know that this is a very to the side aside, but I think that this is a particularly nice cover photo. Anyone else?
I’m sure everyone has already heard about this and that I was the last lonesome soul in Teengirl America to find out, but I was shocked enough to type up this quick post before going back to the land of Spanish homework *far-off screams* .
There I was, moseying through yahoo’s homepage when I stumbled on this article. It sort of makes me feel sad. Although I am not exactly a Twi-hard, it just seems so depressing that people would even consider leaking information like that. Is anyone else feeling bad for Stephenie Meyer right now?
Please go read the article (follow the link above) and then leave your thoughts on it in comments. Are my thoughts on this unjustified?

Actually, the wierdest thing about this seems that so many people haven’t heard of it. Anyone I’ve talked to in person has only known after I told them, including today during the epic French-class-wide Breaking Dawn.
I’m also not a fan of the book, but I definitely felt very bad about this. I mean, to have your first draft leaked to the world…really horrible. *shakes head*

That’s so…. icky. I probably wouldn’tve read Midnight Sun anyways, but still….
I hope it wasn’t done on purpose. It’s bad enough that the draft was leaked without throwing malice into the mix. But, hey, maybe Ms. Meyer will move on from all the Twilight now. I’m looking forward to seeing what she’ll do next.

I’m going to say this realllllly quickly. Ilikedthehostbetterthananyofthetwilightbooks.
*prepares to be stoned by fan girls everywhere.*
But I agree, Medeia. I would love if she explored a little more into science fiction. Or sparked a werewolf revolution. That would be intense.

Actually I totally agree. The Host was much better written—preferring it seems to be a fairly common opionion, actually. The fangirls have faded a bit, actually, with all the BD “Epic Fail”, as it’s been coinned.
I don’t want Stephanie Meyer touching werewolves no more. She’s made lots of people love vampires and hate werewolves, and as the president of the one-person Lobby for More Awesome YA Werewolf Books, I do not support that. She has not been good to us. And werewolves own. They deserve better.
…like Scott Westerfeld.

Now that is a fantastic idea.

Actually, I loved the Twilight series. It didn’t make me hate werewolves at all. I liked Jacob just as much as Edward. Anyway, no matter if you liked the series or not, the whole point is how sad that someone Stephanie trusted could do that. What did they gain out of it? Thanks for ruining it for everyone else. Hopefully she does decide to complete it. I’ll have to check out the host since everyone seems to think it’s so good. PS I agree I’d like to see more werewolf themes.

I think that Stephenie is doing the right thing in postponing the book. If she’s not in the mood to write something, then don’t write it until you are.

I agree. Well put, Natasha. We wouldn’t her to be forced to write it and then toss some general ick onto shelves across the nation. By the way *blog-girl awe*, I love Maw Books Blog. Please keep it up!

I did not even know there was a draft of midnight sun on the internet until the author stoped writting the book. It make me sad because I’m a huge twilight fan and me and my friends were really looking forward to midnight sun and now it’s not coming out.
If I were to say the author was over reacting that would be a lie. If that happened to me I would not know what to do, I would be beyond furious. Those people had no right to take away the rights of the author. The NERVE of those people. They of that person ruined it for the fans and took away some of the author enthusasm towards the book. So over all as sad as I am to not see midnight sun published I am more sad towards the author and whats been done and she had every right to do what she did and I am sorry that happened to her.
